ARAMID BASIC INFORMATION

ARAMID BASIC INFORMATION

Aramid fiber is a high-performance fiber. The aramid molecules have a characteristic structure with a relatively rigid polymer chain structure. These molecules are bonded by strong hydrogen bonds that effectively transmit mechanical stresses.

The term ‘Aramid’ is an abbreviation of ‘aromatic polyamide’. Aromatic polyamide was first introduced as meta-aramid fiber in the early 1960s. Para-aramid was developed between the 1960s and 1970s.

Application Areas

In the manufacturing of gaskets and in almost every branch of industry, in the aerospace sector, in the production of fire protection equipment.

Technical Specifications

High strength, resistance to abrasion and organic solvents, with dielectric properties and low flammability characteristics.
